I currently run the book club “Hot Books!” in connection with Left Bank Books in St. Louis. We read mostly contemporary fiction: today’s **hottest books**, but also books that are *hot adjacent*. At times, we’ll read older *hot books* to satisfy some of my more eclectic tastes and academic concerns. This spring, we’re reading contemporary fiction from around the globe and discussing issues of translation, diaspora, and performance, among other things.
